It happened to me ...It's not a myth - trust me. It happened to me at my mum's house and, like everyone else who's experienced this, I too felt a weight on my chest and found myself unable to move. It was the strangest feeling because obviously the first thing one would want to do would be to jump up and see what this thing is on your chest. And yet you're unable to. So I lay there, awake and utterly aware, unable even to call for my mum. I've had this experience four times all in my late teens. I'm now 39 and live in Hackney, East London (UK) but I've never forgotten it. I don't think anyone who's had this ever could. But who do you tell? You end up sounding mad. Plus - and this is what really freaked me out - I heard a horrible laughter the last time it happened. Like I've said, I was completely awake and the cackling I heard sounded both inside the room and out of it. Man oh man. I tell you.
